Drank a cup o' reality at 5:25 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 24, 2005
So, no one will be able to read this as it seems that my diary is completely inaccessible... but at least I will have written it so then maybe I'll feel better.
I completely jinxed Matthew.
We went out last Friday... or more like it, we stayed in last Friday- there was a HUGE snow storm so I drove out to his place, we went to dinner, took care of his sister's horses, saw the house he is fixing up, played with his dogs, cuddled on the couch, made out and spent the night together (no sex, but lots of good other stuff). Lots adn lots of comments were made about "next time..." and "when...whatever happens...." It was all very very hopeful. It was also all very very "I'm completley into you."
Somehow making out and getting mostly naked on the "technical" 2nd date didn't seem odd or slutty. It felt right and I left in the AM feeling totally confident that I would see him again, soon. And he said he would call, soon.
Then I told all of my friends about him... because he and I had discussed that we were "doing this..." not just investigating each other.
But Sunday went by with out a call... with out an e-mail... He called today at 3:30ish but when his buddy rang through he took it saying, "I'll talk to you later." It's 2 hours later.... And what's more, the whole tone of the conversation was, "I'm leaving to go out of town on Thursday-- I'm crazy busy-- I need to get shit done on my house-- I don't have time to see you."
And, I'm bummed because I really really like this guy. He is fun. He makes me smile. He is great in bed. And I think that I've opened up enough to him that this will really sting if it doesn't pan out.
I logged back onto e*harmony this afternoon and picked up a conversation with another guy... I felt slimy because Matt and I had talked about dropping our memberships and seeing each other through.
Cross your fingers that Matt is not The Farmer version 2.
