Cup o' Reality

YAY for vacation!

As I was flying to the East Coast (to visit Rachel and her lovely boyfriend's family) last night, I had a lot of time to do some real thinking. It was good.

Taking a day off work today was also good. I can honestly say that at no point today did I wonder about how my students were doing. I slept until 11:30 in Daniel's parent's basement. It was gloriously dark and so I was able to sleep that perfect kind of deep comatose sleep. Rachel crept down at 11:30 to wake me.

Our original plan for the day potentially included taking a train to New York and museuming then coming back to Conneticut for the night. But, as I rolled over on my couch the following words came out, "Honey, let's do a Spa Day." Of course we did and it was perfect. I've had my pedi and mani and massage... we have lounged and enjoyed great conversation.

Rachel, one of my 2 longest standing friendships, has been at an odd and pivotal patch in her life. A patch that we are glad we could talk about face to face. It was good that we had alone time today to go over all of the things she had been alluding to but holding back until we were together. It has been good to be together...

I'll be here until Sunday.

Oh, and for the record, I'm in love with Daniel's family!

Mr. Math (as Marty Math Teacher will heretofore be refered to as) can sit on the back burner. Quite frankly, I need to seriously consider how much I want to wait... how long I can and what the pay off at the end should be. Most importantly I need to quit thinking of him as my Future Boyfriend and instead as my current friend. Period.

I've also thought a lot about The Farmer and how I can honestly say that I am past him... I would never go back there and finally, I mean it.

This is a new volume in the story of Spunky!
